After the acrylic awards we designed and produced for their event last year, Cincy wanted something more substantial for 2019, and had a tight deadline.
We designed and hand built awards for 64 recipients using a mix of birch, alder, acrylic and vinyl. Acrylic was laser cut and vinyl region logos were applied. 3/8" high-grade birch ply was routed and sandwiched the acrylic layer; held together with brass cutlery rivets. The assembly was finished with a pass in the laser to engrave the recipient's name, class and place. It was then inserted into a routed receptacle in the alder base.
